Everything You Need to Know About 4-H.
WHO IS A 4-H MEMBER? Any young person, regardless of race, color, or national origin, is encouraged to become a 4-H member. Members who are 9-18 years old are eligible to compete in various 4-H events. A 4-Her's age is determined by their age as of January 1 of the current year. Members may meet with a community club, a project club, or a special interest group, or may be independent 4-H members.
WHAT IS A CLOVERBUD? This group is for 5-8 year olds. They are able to participate in special projects and activities especially designed for them. They cannot officially compete with the older members, but can participate in many of the same county activities.
WHO CAN BE A 4-H LEADER? Any adult (over the age of 18) can share their time, skills and energy with 4-H members in their club and county. Volunteer leaders may work with community clubs as organizational leaders, program leaders, project, or activity leaders.
WHAT IS A 4-H COMMUNITY CLUB? A group of five or more 4-H members with a 4-H volunteer leader who meet at least once a month in local communities. Most clubs learn about a variety of projects and represent a wide variety of ages.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME? Our 4-H program is dedicated to rewarding members and volunteers for their contributions to the county 4-H. Nearly every 4-H program has a built-in incentive program. Many of the incentives for competition on district, state, and national levels have state or national sponsorship. Most all county-wide competitions are sponsored by the 4-H budge, who is funded by the 4-H endowment of the Cabarrus 4-H Foundation, Inc. While the incentives are fun, the best part of 4-H is learning and meeting many people with the same interests!
